A mantis appeared on the screen of our bathroom window one November day. "Not too many days left for you, are there?" we said to her. When she was still there several days later we wondered if it stays warm enough is she a perennial? So we brought her in, where she lived on our jade tree and rosemary bush until late February. We fed her crickets. Our cat Fraxy watched her but seemed to know better than to take her on.

"Her?" "She?" We know it was a female. She left us an egg case on our rosemary.
